I may have the opportunity to buy one of these double lubesters and would love to add one to my collection. I am really interested in the middle one with the yellow paint on part of it. The name embossed on the lids was National Refinery or Recovery? I remember the second name starting with an R but did not write it down. The first one with the all glass domes was a Tokheim. They are on wheels and oval shaped tanks. What can you tell me about them? Age? Rarity? What is the value and a fair offer? All of them still pumped and not frozen up. Thanks, Mike

Nice stuff! I'm partial to the Tokheim but don't have a value for you. Seems like I saw one at Columbia and IG that was redone. It was like the middle one and they were wanting $1100 but would take $900? I might be off on those figures too as it was a while back.

Buy it all and get a better price if you can afford it. If you buy one he will probably either raise the price for each or then think that he gave you too good of deal.

I can say with most certainty that it will take an act of congress to get him to part with just one. I have tried to buy one of these for going on 15 years now. He might, just might sell me one. There are more than these but these were the most interesting. My questions still have not been answered. I like the Tokheim one too. Which one is the most rare and what is a fair offer? Anybody have any other info. on them? The tanks are solid too. Mike

Mike--Theres not a whole lot of sales of these things to go by so you just have to wing it! There was an American 48 double glass unit that sold at an auction sale here this spring and it brought like $3200 and was purchased by the same man that had sold it for $250--20 years earlier! Go figure? Personally, I think that a nice original glass cylinder lubester should bring around $1500. Its a fair value for both parties and you can go from there. Hope that helps.

Wow, not sure I like them that much? They are cool and if I buy one I want the rarest one in the bunch. I had no clue to value and threw out a $500 offer and basically got laughed at. You gotta start somewhere though.

It looks to me that this guy is a hoarder....don't waste your time as he will not sell one of his "children". Even though he is not taking care of the items. I have run into people like that and they CANNOT sell anything. They will let it rot into the ground first....and still think it is worth big money.

Jim is probably right on this guy, but if you've been after it for 15 years, you must want it. I'd say your $500 offer was fair. My value estimate is closer to kz's than kw's. I'd say 500-700, a little more if you can't live without. It's got a good story to go with it after having chased it this long.

Well, I'm kinda going by what I've seen on ebay over the years. Sure, they are rusty looking from exposure, but if they are solid and complete, they are an easy restore! Another member on here has been looking for a nice one for the past couple years and so far, $1500 hasn't been enough cash to get one. Most of you will plunk down $1500 for a Wayne 60 but these glass cylinder lubesters have a lot of eye appeal and don't seem to be as plentyful as the pumps do. JM2C

The one on the left looks like a tokheim 423 from the mid 20s , but they have a drain back line instead of a catch basin. Might be late 20s or later . I agree with KW on the Price of the glass cylinder lubsters . Have you tried a cash offer with a trade . Some times people let go by swapping rust for rust with a few $$$. Those are nice lubsters , keep trying you might just catch him on a good day .

KW should get his facts in order before he runs his mouth on here.It was $2000 for a triple in nice original condition.Seems to be a better deal than a rusty one for $1500.You should spend more time paying attention to your own business.Go Figure.

If these are his children it's time to call DSS on him... lol.
I'd try to see if there was anything else on the property to buy and if it's another one of his "children" type of scoffing then walk away.
