go to one of the decal sites and get you some decal. You can't go wrong with decals and you can change them out if you get tired of them

I sold one a few yrs ago that was definitely not made for signs, looked like a decal to me. Think it was Barq's root beer. Sold it to an oldgasser. Was a small decal on what was once a red background turned to rust.

S & S 700. These were painted to represent the flavor or brand of the company that happened to use it. Here is a Pepsi and Royal Crown example. Edit: Now that I look closer your's is not a S & S 700 since they have soild sides and your example appears to have side inserts.

A couple of questions popped into my head looking at those pictures.
If anyone has disassembled one of these or seen one disassembled...
1. Could it be the sign inserts are the outer skin, thus what we see in the poster's pics once were painted and then at some point stripped removing all remnants of the original?
2. Alternately, they were inserts which sat between the outer skin and the frame of the cooler? If this is the case, would they have been put in during construction as it doesn't appear there is a way to remove them unless they slide out from the bottom.

I had one of these coolers about 15 years ago and restored it while I lived in Ft. Smith Arkansas. It looked EXACTLY like the RC shown in picture posted above. While I can't remember exactly how the signs on the sides were installed I do know that the signs were removable once the cooler was completely apart. One of the original signs was roached and when I went thru the RC signs I had at that time I found a mint one exactly like the original in the box. It was installed in the cooler and the cooler was later traded for some work. So in my case the signs were removable and could be replaced.
