I bought these and were told they were found in original boxes (which I don't have).
They look very nice which naturally makes me suspicious. I tried to take some close up photos where the flanges are to show what looks like porcelain chipping and not paint.
Can anyone help identify these? Thanks
These will be sold so I want to be honest with the buyer.

I think they are Texaco and you do see a lot of them in very nice condition. I'm not sure about authenticity so will leave that to someone who does.

Thanks guys. I couldn't see someone going through the effort to repop restroom signs. I also checked all ebay completed listings and found nothing similar, so I believe I was sold NOS signs as advertised.

There are a ton of repop restroom signage...

Check what they normally go for on Ebay and at shows and it is easy to see why they are being repopped...

Can you show me any examples of the repops? I looked but can't find any.

Your flanges are almost identical to the one set of Texaco porcelain flanges that I still have. I bought 3 mint sets at an old Texaco station auction here in Alberta a number of years back. My Canadian ones are just slightly different in that the bottom green line runs right up to the lower edge. Your door signs look to be the painted aluminum version since they are bare metal on the backside. Texaco had both porcelain and painted aluminum signs, possibly the later were used later on. Cheers, Don.

I looked and I saw many on Ebay that are repops, IMO...

110801689681 :Meant to look like SUNOCO

140900390596 :Generic could/would be used anywhere

200813015910 :Fantasy

121047721578 :Fantasy from China-- auction reads Texaco, Chevron, Standard

140903752244 :from our 'ol pal Lacie51, made to look like vintage SUNOCO

I could go on and on and on and on............. Type in restroom sign on Ebay.... Look at an auction and then go to Google Search or Yahoo Search and bring up actual photos of stations and/or auctions of original signage... The differences will jump out at one...

I am not saying your signage is repop or original.. You will need to have someone like Blacktee or Don or someone who collects the signage help you there...

But, a number of people are making repop restroom signage and restroom key holders.... And to think otherwise, is a good way to get taken!

I just did a magnet test on these and no stick, so they are either tin or aluminum. Could they still be vintage? Every porcelain sign I own is steel.

My opinion is your flange signs are aluminum and original. The door signs the same, but cheaply made compared to the earlier porcelain ones. Just my opinion...

I agree with Doug, I have several nos sets of those rest room signs. They date to the 1960's, are not porcelain and are original.
