So here's the deal....I've had this double-sided "sign" hanging on the wall for 10+ years. Then recently I acquired an original mounting bracket, matched them together, and like MAGIC it tranformed into an oil cabinet "globe",

In the new globe CD, this similar item (MOB94) is described as a "porcelain sign globe, oil cabinet globe",

So now I'm thinking....hey that's cool, I've got a new globe here. Then I realize....if it's not listed in the CD it must be a new discovery. That's even cooler!! And it's been hanging up there all these years.

Richard

Nice cabinet top sign. Looks awesome. Glad you got the mounting bracket for it. It just goes to show that there are things still new in the collecting world!

Richard, I was hoping youd weigh in on this thread. What do you think? http://www.oldgas.com/forum/ubbthreads.p...true#Post381894
It apears to be simalar to your sign, but there are some slight differences. so that makes three? Are the two images above one double sided sign or two separate signs?

I have the same mobiloil one in the second pic. It didn't have a base so I fabricated one so it would stand up on my gargoyle shelf/rack. Mine is the same on both sides. Is this one sign different on each side or two seperate signs? Either way a rare possible new discovery. Nice item Richard. ;;;;;;;;;;Ron Lease-Collector

Sorry for the confusion.....the pictures are of two different signs/globes, both double-sided.
