I am about to buy this sign and don't want to make a big mistake. Any help would be welcomed. It's 2Ft. I am a little concerned about the eveness of the rust on the back. Did they make this shield? Thanks!

There was a guy on flea bay a couple years back that was making signs just like yours ... i think his name was Beautyrest and specialized in "patena'd" signs and very good at it. I think he worked for some movie studios making signs for movies or something.. He had some really neat Burma Shave signs that looked killer for repop. This looks like his handywork but I'm no expert in roadsigns. I think his sold for around $200 ea with the reflectors with your choice of states.
found his website http://www.signsofagefx.com/auto-dealer-signs the page with his route signs is down tho-

I will stick my neck out here and say that , I had been driving on Rt.66 since 1953 between Lincoln ,Illinois and Ted Drews ice cream shop in St. Louis which covers a big stretch of highway, and I do not ever remember seeing a glass cat eye Rt.66 sign during that time in Illinois. I am not saying they did not exist!
