After seeing Jeremy's photo in the Showcase Forum, I went looking for "vintage" images from my Community.... I ran across this post card image from 1910 of 2nd St in my "Home Town" Kelso, WA...  My eye sight is not what it was.... But in the lower rt hand corner it looks to me that there might be a curbside with globe, next to that wagon?... I am wondering what you with better eye sight than I, think?

Looks like roadway is downhill a bit but its as tall or taller then people just down the street. I going with Doc kerosene pump.
Had to use magnifying glass-not much help.

Yes, that was the object that caught my eye... To me it looks to be a 5' or so pump with globe on top...
The technique; I used to get the impression I have: Was to "hop on my right foot, close my left eye (since I am right handed), hold my breath and squint hard enough to give myself a migraine! .........................................
And just as I passed out".... For a second there, I thought I saw a pump...... And now that I think on it..... I too believe I saw Jesus....
Did you use the same technique as I, Rick?

Isn't that one of those 'red dot' Amoco globes? If I remember right, it said 'American Gas.'

It looks to me like an oval shape. My vote goes for a sign hanging on a post above a barrel. Possibly a water barrel or a barrel pump.
