I would say it's real

dated 1946 first year they made the Mobilgas shields-Ingram Richardson blue border

It looks real to me but he's pretty proud of it. Looks like hes accepting offers though.

Real deal and it is the nicest one I have seen. They dont get any better but 500 bucks is really steep, but then again you would never have to find a better one.

Also this the first year for that sign. IR46 aka 1946, they had just changed from the Keyhole style. This style went to 53 then they went to the thin boarder sign.

Small ? I believe approx. 12" is right - at least that what my others that I have measure. Pump plate - yes

I went back and looked and I guess it looks normal. Originally I thought it looked samll in that guys hand.
