Dave--My thoughts are that when I'm buying something on Old Gas, I don't question it as much when I know the person has been around the site for a long time. Same way with selling. I usually send the item out right away before I ever get paid, if its a long time member that has been here for a number of years. I don't recognize every name but this is a quick and easy reference tool. JM2C

I agree with Kevin on this one. I have had "New Members" say they are going to buy something from me and i never get a response back from them when I tell them they got the item first. BUT THEY HAVE NO REPUTATION TO UPHOLD

Just had this happen to me. The guy said he wanted the item at the price I had posted and then I pm'd him back and sent an email to him. No response and I see the messages were read. The guy has no post so the next person got the item.

I have a few on here that I deal with regularly and I know they are good for the money soo I understand Kevins reply to this thread.

I have some that send checks to me and me to them and i dont wait to ship cause I know it is a good check...

I am no veteran member and dont really care. People on this site know what is overkill on the post and who is the experts on certain items. And if you dont just do some searching and reading.

I guess I'm ole fashioned . I have both paperback versions of jack's books . Both are dog eared and sadly, the first edition is latterly coming apart . I build scale models of a lot of what I learned just in Jack's first book. Many of the pumps I saw there were the first time I had seen even a picture of what I had heard about from Texas collectors . Now If I could just finish all the resin molds to do a "Roman Wayne ".........

Two things:

Dave Gill, you are taking my comment to seriously, this was supposed to be "tongue in cheek."

My book is available for both the Kindle and the Nook and any android device. Only one pump will show up at a time, but be sure to remember, the info about the pump is below the picture, not above the picture as sometimes happens.

When my book fell apart, I just punched three holes down the side and put it in a loose leaf folder.

well I may have to get with the 21st century and go from paper back to phone app. I am always looking at my phone at work and wishing I had all Jacks books right there in one place.

I bought each book as soon as they came out... After reading Jacks quote I cannot stand to watch each individual pump come up! I will continue to carry the BIBLE. "An Illustrated Guide to Gas Pumps" Thanks Jack

When my current phone quits, I'll probably NOT replace it.
Does anyone else go to work to WORK & only use a phone for doing WORK for employer?
I know several places that before clocking in, all personal items must be stored in your locker.

Umm Jim, if we click on the title in your post, will you get credit for the sale? Or should we still enter it in the e-bay box at the bottom of each thread section.

I have the last edition (non-virtual) but I imagine a lot of folks here will be adding the e-book version and I just want to make sure OLDGAS gets credit for it...

BTW Jack, did not see the 14000 guy, but noted the wacky 18000 guy... grin crazy grin

JM2C Veteran member should come from how long one has been an old gas member not from making the most post.
