I really like that sign. The quality in my opinion is good and it very well could have been used at a station. I could certainly envision that on the peak of an overhang in the 30's or 40's. The clouds signify the General Petroleum territory of Socony-Vacuum, which Oregon was certainly a part of. Real or not, I think it's a great piece myself! Darin

While doing my Mobil searches for the day I stumbled across this photo on Ebay, item number 230889503635 . You can see the bottom of one of these signs at the top of the building. The photo is in Washington which makes sense, being part of the General territory.

I think these signs are awesome. There was an antique store in Portland that had one hanging in it for years..never for sale, of course. If I remember correctly, Mobil did a limited number of these signs on Marine-grade plywood in the 30's. Very tough sign to find.
