Can anyone tell me the year and make of the car pulling the float. I've googled every car and year from 55 to 65 that I can think of.

Thanks Mick, hard to believe it's been 40 years, unfortunately the car as well as the hair has moved on. A little demo derby on the streets the night before against a buddy's 62 Ford van took out the headlight but the van took a real beating compared to the Olds. Took it to the local lumber yard and weighed it on the scale with a quarter tank of gas, 5,024#. Did manage to save the license plates, but that's it. Sure miss her.

The whole point of this is to try and date the sign in the picture. But even if that's a 59 olds, the car could be 4-5 years old so it's really doesn't tell me a whole lot.

That's a 59 Chrysler fin on the lower right , the red car. A lot of parade cars are supplied by local dealers to show off the new models. I'd say your pretty close on 1959. But that doesn't tell you how long the sign has been displayed.

May be possible to match the color of the license plate on the 49 Hudson to a certain year. Ken

But that doesn't tell you how long the sign has been displayed. Yah, I knew that was one flaw in the logic. But figured it was a start.
