Walked into one of my antique booths today. Walked over to stage my oil cans on my oil rack. Someone opened all my full oil cans and then put them back ready to spill. What the heck.

Leakey cans are usually Cheaper than Full Cans.

They could have Dropped each [would have made noise doing so] & Damaged them!

I'm sorry that happened to you.
It's one of the stoopid things, if not a lot worse, that would happen to my stuff if I had it at a antique mall in Spokane and between that and the rent fees plus percentiles that all the decently located stores charge, I figured it's better the way I am than to try that. I also noted that all the stores indemnify themselves in all the contracts, even if they have cameras!
I also don't sell on ebay for different but some similar reasons.
Good luck in the future!

I stopped selling at a group store when I saw my item on eBay. Photo'd in its place in my booth. When I went to the Antique store to see if my item sold it was not and was still in my booth. I took it home with me that day and finished out the month. I suspect it was the mall owners doing it to several renters.

Adults are more prone to do Pranks than Unattended kids, especially in antique shops/stores.

At one time we were in four malls at the same time. We were in one of the nicest malls in our area for quite a few years-10 maybe? . Even though it was higher end, well staffed with cameras ect. we were always dealing with stolen items. Like all the knobs off a piece of furniture. Oil lamp fill caps- pieces off toys you name it. Not to mention broken/ damaged stuff. Items just plain gone. Some people just dont have a conscience. Sometimes we'd get paid for other peoples stuff. Honestly, with the rent and commission so damn high it just wasnt worth it anymore. Now we just keep one spot to get rid of middle of the road stuff. Shows are better in my opinion. Even though they are more work they are funner. You get to talk to people face to face and have a little more control over your stuff.
