Hey All ..Great site wondering if you can help me identify what I have, I
have this gas pump that I started to restore many years ago. My father
owned a shell station so I kinda went the "yellow shell" route but never
really completed the restoration. Everything on the pump is original no
pieces are missing, even has the original bennett SN plate . The ad glass
which is the number 200 in a blue colour, is original but severely cracked
on both the front and back panels. The thing I was wondering if anyone
knows what the blue 200 represents, and is it more valuable if I keep the
original cracked ad glass and restore the rest of the pump in the theme of
the ad glass (if I knew which brand it was) or is easier and just to
replace it with a more "shell" themed ad glass and finish up the restore
in a shell theme with a repro globe etc. Open to any and all suggestions.

Hello Wave1 - You have a Bennett 966. Made from 1954-1956. Jacks new book puts the value at $350.00. complete and unrestored.I have one just like it. Mine also has a stainless trim piece that goes around the face plate glass that matches the trim you have around your ad-glass.

Can't help you with the "200" ad-glass but someone here will.

Since this is YOUR pump I would do it in whatever theme you want!

The ad-glass is like the computer face glass, curved. Make sure you order to fit your pump!

Nice pump!!! Good Luck

Kurt

200 adv glass is possibly a SUNOCO grade.
Don't know if anyone makes the curved adv glass for your pump. IF not use a piece of acrylic & decals to create your own.

Most of the aftermarket vendors have the curved ad glass that you need. I would make it whatever brand you choose, the cracked original ad galss wont ad to its value, Have fun

Thanks for your responses, would love to know of a couple sites to get some Shell curved ad glass and a repro shell globe, did some searching but there's ALOT out there and would like your suggestions, any idea how much it would be worth we it is completely restored?

Thanks again

Because everyones restorations are different [some go over the top, others just a paint job],there is no way to give an accurate estimate. Can you put a value on YOUR time when your having fun & doing something for yourself ?

Just like Yocum said. By putting that # in the e-bay search box at the bottom of the screen, it will take you to the e-bay auction with one of those signs. And please, call me Thunder.
