Why would anyone shove a can that is too wide in a flat rate box!!!
I dont understand. Bought this can and now it looks as though someone squeezed it. This is one version of upperlube cans i have not seen before.

Box:

You can see the can budging out in the middle.
Between the "p" and the "l" on lube the can is completely flat.
I guess sellers feel they can package it horribly and that eBay buyer protection will cover the rest.

Front Dented (always the front for some reason):

Wooo time to vent today.
Dan

I had a seller ship me a glass for a clock shoved into a flat rate box . Yes it was crushed and they said it cost too much to use a bigger box with more packing.

Geez Dan what can one say? You wonder where the common sense went?
Any value in an ultra rare squeezed upper lube can?

Still some to me. Would like to find another but havent seen any. If you find one let me know!!!
So yes there is value... What i paid? That is another question.
I paid 45 shipped for the can. And to box it in a correct box would have been less money. Flat rates arent always the best deal.
I opened a Claim against this new seller because it isnt the same as listed. It is a tad bit smaller NOW! Still want it to fill a spot but it is more damaged than listed originally.

You know, I agree that most sellers pack poorly. On the other hand, being a seller as I am, I try to do a good job packing? Here's the problem, shipping is expensive and most buyers' want to pay as little as possible to have an item sent. I have lost sales when the properly packaged item becomes too costly. It becomes a waste of time and material in those cases. With Ebay, you are required to post a shipping fee. If you use the correct needed costs, you probably will not sell your product? Most sellers put in the cheapest shipping to promote the sale. It's not wrong but leaves no money to upgrade packing. Right or wrong, it is the system in play currently? Paul www.severngaspumps.com

Here is the sellers response:
"I'm very sorry the item was damaged, I guess in my effort to get the item shipped quickly I used what was available and did not package it properly. I have suggested a full refund through paypal upon receipt of the damaged item. I hope this is acceptable, again I apologize "

Wrote them back asking for a partial refund as i do want the can but wanted more in the condition it was first in.
Glad the seller responded though.

I loose money on shipping more times than not but I'd rather loose a few bucks to make sure the item gets to it's new owner in the shape that it left my hands. I also don't charge the buyer for insurance as I feel that is my responsibility to help insure that it gets there safely. Even when I over pack items, if they are more than $100, they get insured...common sense IMO

The seller was great to work with. They refunded me the payment and had me just keep the can.
Great seller and was impressed by their actions. One bad experience and a good outcome at the end will have me buy from this person again,
Thanks cdonjr(eBay Seller)
