I've never been around any DX stations or signs etc, I am interested in some pictures of what the pumps looked like and what brand/style of pumps were used in the 50's & 60's (i'm about to show my age) I first saw a DX in The Outsiders movie and always had an interest in the stations of that era (red, white & blue DX diamond sign) I have a bowser 595 pump and would like to make a dx pump with it (if it would've been something that was used by a DX) any info or pictures would be appreciated. Also, Any recomendation on a more correct pump would be appreciated, thanks

Great movie!!! Google DX and/or Station, and/or.... click images. You can find out some stuff just looking for pics of stations. I can't speak for the pump dating.

thanks, the pumps in that pic are newer than what i was thinking or remembered. I googled images of pumps and some of the photos were from pictures/archives from this site. I imagine I'm thinking of an older pump with the later color or logo scheme. thank you.

Looking through oil can and globe reference guides, the earliest item I see with the red, white, blue is in 1957 in an oil can. 1959 in a globe. So it looks like the logo changes from black to blue right around the late 50's. You'll have to dig deeper to get more specific.
Stay gold Ponyboy!!
