I seen this gas pump on craigslist. http://providence.craigslist.org/clt/788874430.html
It looks VERY early so I got out Jack's book. Looks to be a Kew-Ideal I think BUT I couldn't find it in the New or Old book?
I'm NOT interested in pumps so I thought I would show you pump guys on here!
Good Luck and I Hope it works out for someone who lives close to Rhode Island???

Cool pump there. Love the raised letters. I think it helps make it. I talked to the fella that owns it. He has done research on it & has traced the company to Chicago. Very nice fella if I could have it picked up I would try for it but shipping would cost a ton as it is made of 3/8in cast iron. A real back breaker LOL.

There appears to be some connection between Ideal (which I believe was in Boston) and the Kew-Ideal company of St. Louis. I mention this in the company history section of the new book under Kew-Ideal. Perhaps the Ideal company was purchase, brought to St. Louis and renamed Kew-Ideal.

No critism, but what do you mean by "love it"?

I also "love it"... it is unusual, compact and would make a great static display in my collection. Don't know much about it other than it is unique.

I knew you "pump guys" would like it!!!
I hope 1 of the oldgas members ends up with it and does all the research and restoration because I think it's uncommon!
Wonder if it had a chimney or globe holder??
It would look even better lit up!

I would have to say that is one of the best looking curb pumps I have seen.
The body style is unique and the lettering is fantastic.....what can I say I like the "uglies"

Last week he told me the price was $300. now his email says the asking price is $1200. I am not interested in playing his "how high will they go" game
