Hi Guys,
I am putting together a junkyard Wayne 60 as I come across parts. Finally found one of the faceplates I needed but the threads in the four mounting holes are screwed up. In the future I will purchase the correct screws, but for now just want to mount the faceplate so that it doesn't get damaged lying around. Can anyone help me with the correct thread size so that I can re-tap them correctly?
Thanks,
Lee

Lee the 4 screws that hold the bezel on should be 1/4" x 20 the 4 screws that hold the face plate on are 8-36 if I remember right?

I don't know what size the window bezel screws are, but I can tell you this: Wayne must have gotten the screws from a space ship, because they are not S.A.E. fine or coarse, or Metric. If you have the correct brass screws I would take one to Ace and let them tell you what size to tap the holes. Yours are probably not messed-up, but because of the odd size, nothing normal will work! Lee I pulled 2 different Wayne 60 pump bezels off today and checked both pumps for Bezels screw size 1/4" x 28 and face plates like most all pumps and Eco air meters the face screws are the hard to find screw size #8-36 Hope this helps Don

In my experience, Eco air meter faces and most pump faces use #8-32 screws or at least that's what I've been using without any problems. I chase the threads with a #8-32 tap and then use the screws.

Don - thanks for going the extra mile and physically verifying the size for me. I could tell that it was 1/4" by the hole size and assumed that it would be a fine thread because of the panel thickness. On the other hand, I didn't want to screw it up just because I was too cheap to buy the correct reproduction screws yet!
Thanks again,
Lee

Hi Don, you were right-on. A 1/4-28 tap cleaned up the holes with no muss, no fuss. Now my junkyard 60 no longer has a gaping hole where her face should be.
And yes, she will be re-branded to match the sign!
Thanks,
Lee
