Will be down in Dallas visiting the in-laws with a side trip down to San Antonio. Appreciate hearing about any good picking spots or must-visit stores and shops.
Thanks so much for any thoughts.
Looking for Canadian quart cans and items. White Rose, North Star...

There is a place on I35 just south of San Marcos that has lot's of old signs for sale. Can't remember the name--it is on the north side of the interstate across the highway from the big outlet mall.

There's an antique mall south of Downtown Ft. Worth that is on the north side of hwy 30 just a couple exits west of 235W. Always has some globes & signs.
Always looking for more Derby, Vickers, KanOTex, & Elreco gasoline & oil items!

He was a really good friend. Garland Warren. He bought a lot of collectibles, but more importantly he was a great guy and enjoyed this old stuff.

Garland passed away? Dang... he was indeed a cool guy. Had a HUGE collection. I was at his store one day eating a burger and enjoying a chocolate shake (while my wife shopped at the outlet mall) and was looking at several signs--his daughter called him and he came by. We visited for an hour or so about some stuff at the store then he asked if I was in a hurry... of course I wasn't so he drove me to his house. Wow! he had HUNDREDS of old advertising signs covering every inch of interior wall space and just stacked up everywhere! I ended up talking him out of several of them that I bought as a package deal--still have them proudly displayed in my shop...

Hey slingshot, thank you but probably not. Those letters sound neat, but I am more interested in rare items from Texas. Golden West, pioneer globe, etc. Thank you though. I spent a lot of time with Garland. He was a smart, great guy. Glad you saw all of the stuff at his house. It was covered... LOL

Col-Tex was a small refinery in Colorado City, TX from the '20s to the '60s. There were a few Col-Tex stations... memorabilia is very rare.
