I have two globes one is an original Sinclair Dino w/ red letters and it has a bb hole on one side and the original capco is broken on the base but glued well. I payed $75 vs. $99+tax+sh for a perfect repop.
Like stated repop has a place just not in my collection.
Oilzum, 1qt Oil Cans, Gas and Oil smalls, Oldsmobile collectables.

I would take the damaged original for the shelf inside, but my outside pumps have repro globes on them. I have kids and baseballs flying all over my yard. My visible pumps wear hail screens as well.

Everybody is different in the way they collect and it really comes down to what you want. I am one of those who can not afford a polly globe so therefore I will never own one real or repro. Some may say that's ignorant but it's just the way I am. To me an original is a part of history and I always wonder where it came from. At the end of the day collect what you want it's your collection., but if you do buy a repop remeber that's all it is.
Originals only for me. Always looking for Simpson oil, Super A, and MFA oil cans and globes. Shawn Morris

I think the key word here is "invest". Certain lenses even in damaged form are investments.
Reproduction or fantasy items are not investment quality items.
