Hi everyone. This is my first post so I hope i did everything right. This Bennett is going to be my first restoration. Something odd about this gas pump is that it is a computer pump but the id tag says its a 373 (which should mean its a clockface model?) The tag appears to be original. Does anyone know if taking out the clock mechanism and put a computer was ever done? I have been thinking about maybe converting it back to a clockface pump. I'd love to hear some of your thoughts on that. I'll post pictures of the id tag and decal I found underneath the paint.

It is hard to see the 7. Are you sure it is not an 8? A 383 is a non computing pump with a Veeter Root. Look at the faces, there is no total price. It would not make sense for someone to convert a non computing clock pump tp a non computing VR pump.

Nice looking straight pump. That decal is really cool and I would try to preserve it as is if it was my pump. A rustoration would look great on this pump. Matt Alvarez who posted above is the master at doing those.

This is easy, the pump is a 383F, but somebody changed out the side panel with one from a 373.

Anyone have any good advice for removing the rest of the paint off of the decal? The last of the paint seems to be extra stubborn. I've been using paint stripper on the areas where the paint was thicker but I'm worried about damaging the decal.
