My friend just bought these today. Any ideas on where and when these were used? Any ideas on value? Bonded "78" ARE 15 inch. Octavia are 13.5. Thanks in advance.

Bonded was out of the upper Midwest, I'm sure Wayne Henderson can give you a more in depth history..
Good oil cans don't wait for people, people wait for them.

Never seen the Octavia or the Bonded in 15". Id pay $1000-$1250 for the Bonded lenses. Very nice lenses. Maybe $500 or so for the Octavia. Thats just what I would pay as a globe collector.
Looking for any cans! PM me what ya got!

Mac ...shoot him a PM, he won't bite
Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...

My friend also found a dead mint set of the bonded lenses that are 13.5 inch. Are those more or less valuable than the 15 inch bonded lenses?

Congrats two new gas globe discoveries! Never seen either one...Bonded on 15" is way cool, seen on 13.5" glass but never this 15" for metal frame. Scott B.

Bonded was the brandname introduced by Gaseteria in 1929 or 1930. Russell Williams founded Gaseteria in Indianapolis in 1928, and within a year or two developed the Bonded name and image and franchised it across the upper Midwest and South. The longest lasting franchise was founded in 1932 in Springfield Ohio, Paul Deer's Bonded Oil Company. Gaseteria sold out to the Oklahoma Oil division of Standard of NJ (Exxon) in 1956 after Russell Williams was killed in a plane crash. The Bonded name, still in use at that time, was phased out for Oklahoma within a year, and became Enco in 1960 in Indiana, Illinois and northern Kentucky. Paul Deer's Bonded (Ohio) sold out to Marathon in the mid-1970s, and the name was replaced with Speedway about 15 years ago.
