I'm starting restoration of a 1010 - my first visible- and have a couple of questions. I want to go with Gilmore ethyl colors for early '30's, red and yellow. Does anyone think it would be unlikely that a Milwaukee pump could have west coast colors? If it is OK, I need the paint codes - they aren't listed in the "Guide to Gas Pump Restoration".

Gilmore will look better in redish orange & creamy yellow [I would buy decals & globe, then have paint matched]. Nobody cares what pump you restore to west coast signage. It will look more correct if you use a repo 15" globe, instead of the cheap 13 1/2 capco. db

Dick; Thanks for the info. I sent an e-mail to GasPumpColor.com and they think they have found the correct colors, but not sure from your description. Also, I talked to Mike Slama about the globe and decals. He said he uses very clean/exact originals to develop his products so they are what I will use there. The potential conflict would be if I go ahead and order paint and then the match to globe/decal may not be perfect.

I think it's best to buy decals, signs & globe 1st. Then get your paint. db
