Hello all,

First I would like to thank all of you that helped my ID my A-64 "Flying A" pump and I am now thinking it would be best to leave it as is and restore to its original beauty.

With that said, I am wondering about the polishing of the porcelain. Is this the same as something like bath tub or appliance porcelain?

Once I get the paint that does not belong off of the porcelain panels, what is the best way to polish them? I am familiar with cut and buff on base coat/clear coat finished and rubbing lacquer painted finishes.

Also, when it comes to repairing any chips, what is the best way to achieve. I am sure there must be some filler involved to bring the surface finish up to the level so paint would blend?

I do have body work and paint experience but working with porcelain is new to me. Any help is always appreciated.

If there is a thread on this already, can some one link it here please.

Thank you,
Tom
