Welcome to old gas. Kind of have to know what part your interested in, signs, pumps, globes, air meters.
Can click on the links above for some current ones available.
The problem with books is they outdate themselves as the economy and collectors change.
Check completed e-bay auctions and other auctions for pricings.

You would be amazed at the amount of info you could obtain by just following e-Bay auctions and this site.

...the books are only obsolete, if you're only looking for a price guide...there's lots of valuable information that won't become obsolete: what signs/globes/cans are out there, what companies used them and when, etc...

Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...

Sterling, if you are "into" Sinclair items... Checkout the "Book Store" above in the Header...
I see that Amazon has a number of Sellers selling Wayne and Scott's Book: "Sinclair Collectibles"....

Welcome to Oldgas!!
Hooked yourself up on one of those Sinclair plates with the goofy "R" did you??
What Dave, Mike & Mark said!!
And as Bob said, if Sinclair is your baby, the Wayne & Scott book is well worth the $30!! I dont even collect Sinclair and I love it!
Another great reference guide for signs for the guy with a big budget would be the Dan Mathews book, "The Fine Art of Collecting & Displaying Petroliana". Tons of sign info in there and it's only a couple years old. And if you dont have the budget for the big ticket item, the book is still great fun!!
Good luck!!
Steve Coppens Always interested in Sunoco items! Really want a Sunoco National pump ad glass!!

The 3-40 and 9-40 plates are dated in the lower left corner...you should be OK on that one!

Sterling, Amazon has both "A Tour with Texaco" and "Texaco Collectables" Books on their 'site...
Both are excellent books about the "Texaco Brand"...
