So you would sell it at a greatly reduce price? please! you said (most people) cater to the other percent when you sell, I love original as well as the next perfectionist but those are almost nonexistent.
I think the price goes down the more after market parts something has or up the less it has . My point is the more original or what we are talking about is original parts there are gives it more value . That being said sometimes we don't have a choice its either after market parts or a pump missing parts .
The only problem with the repo's is that they were not recast from originals just made up -- but they did a good job just not quite 100% which is good so you can spot them
I collect Phillips 66 and globes pumps & signs esp Iowa co.
Hi Because you mentioned in this thread that you had not seen one, I thought I'd post two pictures: The one that says Phillips Petroleum Company is mine and it weights ~45 lbs. (I found pictures I had taken in April) The one that says: Property of the Phillips Petroleum Company sold on Ebay last year.
WOW My old thread got real busy here. Repop ones are smaller by about 1 inch than the originals as when they try to recast them the cast iron shrinks down.
Here is the version I have on my curb sign. I’ve been told it’s original for the smaller diameter sign such as the 19” Paraffin sign. NFS but would like to hear opinions
