Has anybody restored a pump in Texaco Diesel? Is green the only color they had them in originally (c.1940s & 50s)? Thanks,Brian

Texaco Diesel Chief gas pumps were RED and Texaco Diesel Fuel #2 pumps were GREEN . Hope this helps. Daniel

Texaco Diesel Chief gas pumps were RED and Texaco Diesel Fuel #2 pumps were GREEN . Hope this helps. Daniel ...Texaco Diesel Chief pumps were green at one point - I've got a photo of a cardboard poster that pictures one, somewhere...
Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...

I'm sorry I thought we were talking about pump plates. I believe I've seen them in white, green and red where they may have used an old Fire Chief pump, or same paint ?

Heres the only photo I have seen with pumps.They are Tok 300s with The green diesel fuel globe and, the red diesel chief sign..Picture is one from internet.

...the image I have shows a darker green pump with red Diesel Chief plates...no globe...

In my experience -diesel when available at a retail level
ie at a s/s with f/c and s/c pumps the diesel was always
identified with a green color
Other installations such as farms etc one could find a
diesel pump in another color such as red
Generally diesel was identified by the green color
