I'm sure these are the latching handles for the tops of a truck tanker, and are probably from a specific brand of tanker? Since they are chromed, I would suspect that they are for a fairly fancy unit? Has anyone ever seen them before or have knowledge of what they may have come off from? My brother-in-law found these and I had him check to see if the fellow had any other parts to go with these, but this was it!

I had a picture (can not find it) of the top of a tanker that had fancy caps and they had a wing on them that looked like yours. I think the picture I had was originally posted here on oldgas.

I'm just going from memory too, and it isn't a very good one! LOL I seem to remember this type of handle on the top of a tanker, but I haven't found it yet?

The ones I remember were an actual photograph. I have tried searches on here and the internet and can not find the picture or another one like it.

I've drawn a blank too? I remember seeing a picture of one similar, or the same as mine. My old memory isn't that good anymore, and I can't remember where I saw it? It latched in a similar manner as the one pictured, with the latch handle going over the top of the cap.

I FOUND SOME! I was in South Dakota on a mercy run for another collector, and I found an old tanker body with these exact handles on it! Only problem is---I could not find any identification plate, so I don't know the brand name, or the model number. It appears that this tank has had the side platforms removed on it at one time or another and maybe the ID plate went with it? Pretty fancy looking tank unit, even with what is left of it! Looks to be a streamlined unit with the curvature of the front of the tank, and the way the back was made. Anyone recognize anything about this tank that gives an idea as to manufacturer?

Tank wagon manufacturers didn't make there own dome covers, fire valves, etc. Dome cover brands I can remember are McDonald, Tiona-Betts, & Civacon. Standard used Brownie tanks often but the one pictured doesn't look like one. Dave
