I could be wrong but it sure looks like the label is computer generated to me! Inquired and it is appears to be a sticker I was told by the seller.

Okay someone needs to educate me on how to tell computer generated from a original?


I am always looking for anything Texaco or Oklahoma oil and gas company's, also I am a newbie at seeking globes.

computer generated font can usually be identified by the 'crispness' of the text. the lines of each letter will be far more defined and clear, and the spacing will be uniform.

think of it like the difference between a typewriter from 1950 to a typewriter from 1990.

Well shown Bryce. Also with all the early cans I have anyway..the product is always stamped on the can long after it had been painted. Most of the grease cans/buckets like this were painted with a blank space and the "HD #2" product code would have been stamped on later and far more crudely.

Looks like an extra dot afterA on U.S.A. That is not on the fake .also comma instead of dot after Worcester .


Wanted TEXACO related items & SUNOCO related items .Signs -Globes et'c. Oil Cans - Grease cans .

Look at differences in fonts also. For example the "B" in the word By. There is a significant difference is some of the letters.
