I live about an hour from DoDo, and he loves to rub it in when he finds something in my backyard, now its my turn. This last Thursday I pick up the local Buy & Sell, but I put it on my desk and didn't pick it up untill this afternoon, about 4:30. What do you know, the very first ad in antiques reads "1930's National gas pump", I couldn't believe it, surely it was already sold, it had been 2-1/2 days. So I call, and talk to the fellows wife, she tells me he just turned on his cell as he was on his way home, and she would have him call right away. About 5 minutes later the phone rings, he hasn't had a call, its the 4th time the ad has run, and bang, today the sun comes out, and there were 5 calls while he was gone. So I say, I'll hop in my truck right now with cash and drive down, but I want first shot seeing as how I'm making the trip, he agrees and says he won't return the other calls untill I see it. I drive the hour, get there while he's on the phone with another persistant caller who also wants to see it, but true to his word he tells them someone else has dibs first. Well, needless to say, I got the pump and I'm not dissapointed. and the best part is it was less than a mile from DoDos house, Yahoo! Sorry DoDo, I just had to rub it in...........

Good looking pump!
good score too!

you could have had DoDoGas run over & guard it while you were on your way in to buy it.

or would of it been gone fer sure then?

Well about 2 years or more ago I found one within 2 0r 3 miles of PoGo's house, and he has still not seen it!!

I was going to try to deal on it but did not happen, guy wants to keep it anyway.

Now the funny part... we have each only seen 1 of these pumps in a 300 mile radius, there are more Wayne 60,s and clockfaces here than Nationals!!

looks good.. wonder where it was..lol

About 6 years back I bought a motorcycle near where he lives, it was worth about 6 times what I paid if I only cleaned it. I ende up getting about 10 times what I had into it. One day I was driving with him and I said hey, want to see where I got the bike?? so I showed him he says, I know those people, been there a few times!!...LOL
