My dad has an old G & B 5 gallon pump he hauled home from a junk yard in Pennsylvania many years ago. I've looked through a few different pump books and been to several oil and gas shows and have never seen one like it, so I was hoping someone could help me out with some information. There is no model number anywhere on the pump. There is one tag that reads: Gilbert & Barker Patented March 25, 1919 Patented April 29, 1919 Patented July 20, 1920 Another tag reads: GAL. 5 PUMP It is approximately 8 to 9 feet tall. The bottom part is approximately 20" square. The upper body is approximately 16" square and has a globe holder. There is a round dial that reads to 20 gallons in 1 gallon increments with a brass pointer. There is also a vertical scale that reads in 1/2 gallon increments with a light overhanging it. On the opposite side there are 6 knobs labeled from 1/2 gal to 5 gal. This is the side the nozzle hangs on. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Don

I believe your pump is the G&B square 66. It is shown on page 178 of my Gas Pump Identification book. Frankie guessed it might be the 67, but the 67 is less than 16" in the middle part. The 66 also does not have the verticle scale you mentioned, the 66 does. If you are interested, I have ads showing the pump. If you don't have my book, you can get information about at at: www.crspub.com
