I may be a newbie here but I have been restoring computers for folks for 20 yrs. I also have worked as a pump mechanic from
1981 to 1994 and have the knowledge to rebuild almost any type of meter, pumping unit, nozzle, air eliminator. Last year I build 2 computers and two meters for Wayne 60
pumps that are going to dispense gasoline retail !!??!! But it took six meter cores to come up with enough good parts for two good meters and the cost of the gaskets, leather piston cups, etc. added up close to $100.00 ea. Thanks........Joe

WOW _ that is very cool! I am sure you will have a GREAT ton to rebuild as the computers get harder to find in working shape!

I tried to rebuild one and never got it spinning correctly - it would work and roll back but would land on 083 every time!

Man that was hard and I would never do it again!

Thanks for the info - I have your number and name in my notebook!

An assembly line MUSTANG painted to look like a SHELBY, will always be an assembly line MUSTANG, NOT A SHELBY.

IF, you want to see the hands move, use a battery clock motor.

I can set up the clock either way.....bottom drive or crank drive.....sure either way It's not a true clock but it is a lot better than static hands...I myself am a true pureist. If you ever bought a computer from me you would know that. That is why I designed this unit using as many Veeder-Root parts as possible. But people like to play with their toys. These clocks can be set up to use the motor drive that Mark Sconyers was making, Or to utilize the reset crank .
I just thought people would like to show off the function of the clock without having to open the pump or spend another $100.00. this clock has a 20 to 1 ratio a battery clock is 12 to 1
thanks.... Joe

Man that is a GREAT deal for a converting pump to a clock face - Dick says "put in a standard clock" yea that sucks. A 12 hour clock is a 12 hour clock - but to each his own.

I have owned several pumps that were originally dial pumps that someone switched to a standard computer - always wanted to put in a clockworks - but you can never find them!

This is a GREAT item for that matter!

Yeah, I know about missing parts... it took me 3 yrs to find a 10" computer for a Tok. #36 I restored...or the Tok.#34 bottom panels I never found...sold the pump, or the Erie clock I never found....sold the pump.
I have done some more research and it seems Scobie offers national B-38 , and Bennett 77
clock faces I assume these would work for A-38 and 76??? If everyone stayed inside the box we would never have monster trucks,ultra-light aircraft, hot rods. With this unit you can at least come a lot closer to restoring a converted ( to computer)clock pump back to normal or just have fun.... you could make a Tokhiem #300 into a clock with the right face modification. With this unit and the #36-B clock faces you could make a Nat. 62 into a clock.....Even though it never existed
it would still look sweet.
Thanks.......... Joe

To me this would get the pump back to what it originally was - "if it was a DP" and then changed... UNTIL - you can find the correct computer - if you ever do. I was looking for the last 4 years for a DP computer for my t-36b and never found one, then sold the pump this last month... GRRRR.

I was looking over his standard rebuilt computers and they are GREAT - I hope he will post a picture here of them?

Most of the cups for meters and pumps were leather.Dean Bennet supply co.Has leathers up to 4" dia. I did a search for leather cups and found them Quick.........you might find more companies searching for
"leather cups" If you aren't going to pump gas out of it "close" should work. I don't know what diameter your cup is....Sevice Station Lifts also use leather cups.
thanks ....Joe
