Thanks for all the praise everyone.
In order for me to keep my prices down I don't restore the sheet metal that covers the computer. It will be the same for the clock. It is best to take all 5 peices off 3 on head, 2 on variator, place computer in trash bag...pack tight w/ paper. If computer rocks during shipping it could severly damage the thin aluminum wheels or break totalizer\face bracket ears..pack tight!!
Also I have stopped rebuilding the totalizer
( the unit with the two 1" banks of wheels)
Due to the inavailability of readable wheels.
I now disengage the gears gut the unit and cover the unit with a card that will resemble good wheels. Also because the totalizer and gear train is the first place these things try to lock up, because of the complexity of the gear teeth

Thanks............ Joe

It can be done, I have done one.... I would have to charge way too much.and I don't want to do another.I am producing
a clock unit that will fit in it's place.
I know how hard the old computers are to find, that is why I came up with the 8" clock. It will fit #34 Tokhiem, Wayne 40, 50.
These are the only pumps I have seen this 8' computer in, although I'm sure others could have had it.I am going to post a pic of it soon...Thanks ....Joe

Joe,
Nice work! Will your 8 " clock have the means to mount in a Wayne 40 that is missing the computer without much fabrication? What about faces?

Thanks, Rob

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us In the pic you will see the clock is made from a computer... it will fit any pump that origionally took an 8" computer. I think the center shaft will have to be at different positions for 6 and 9 wheel faces... I need to do more research.
I have had many inquiries about my clock.I don't know if they ever made a #34 or 40 or 50 clock but I made the 8" for someone to be able to put something that works into a pump that was missing the 8" computer. If someone who is making faces would contact me, I could give them specs. for the Wayne and tokhiem, 6 and 9 wheel faces.I don't have all the bugs out of the faces, but the clock works fine! All of this is do-able, it might just take a little more time. I released it a little soon on purpose...to see if there was enough interest to go into production....The demand has been so great...I am making parts for 100 units to begin with...I have had inquiries for at least 25 12" units so far. That is 25 sets of faces that someone will sell
..25x$40.00=$1000.00..100x$40=$4000.00

I am still waiting on the 866 trim to get here to reproduce them, and should have the "pan" for the 36-B faces ready within 2 weeks...hopefully...Thanks.....Joe

I think you are going to have to modify the 866 bezel. I dont think it will be deep enough to contact the face if you made youre clock the same width as the veeder root. I belive the clock was a bit wider 1/2-3/4 of an inch if I recall. That or you can space youre faces out off the computer.

I had someone install a unit in a 60.
He said with the origional 866 trim, it worked fine. Actually the clock is 12 1/4"
That would only leave 1/16 on each side if that.It has been years since I restored a 60 and I have never restored an 866 any help like this is greatly appreciated.A small strip of felt could be attached on outside of face trim to block any sight or light. I would like to make the trim "dual purpose". I guess a peice of 1/16" cardboard behind each face would work as well. There will be enough room for that behind the rear hand plate for the face to come forward. The rear hand plate is slightly undersized from the face hole. The pics I have posted so far have had Wayne hand set-up. I have similar to origional for Tokhiem as well.
Thanks for the info......Joe

Here is a pic of a Wayne 60 METER. I rebuilt a couple of these dinosaurs for pumps that are going to retail gas in Alaska.
It took 6 cores to get enough good parts to rebuild 2. I was able to find a place that had the dies for the gaskets, Used A.O. Smith
meter cups.I had Doug at Meters Inc. in Cartersville calibrate them for me.
