Hi Everyone. The Metro Bennett 76 is done. I really like this pump. I am extremely fond of the art deco style pumps and I think it looks killer next to my Wayne 60. The original paint (green)was pretty good so I cleaned it up and kept it. I did repaint the trim and window boxes to bring out the art deco lines better. I would like to thank Frankie T-BONE for the pump to start with, Troy Swigart for the Nozzlerest, Ron Scobie for the computer faces, Big Rex Benson for the Metro pump plates, Larry Ivy for some of the window box trim, The Big Cheese for the Metro Globe and of course Local Frank S and Steve Snow for helping me get it to my house from oregon gas. Thanks everyone. --------------------------------------------- Hubba, gas geek of shoreline WA

Local Frank - yes we should - your Buddy and I miss ya. thanks for the Post card. Morgan... The original green had some chips to it but basically it was dirty and dull. Alls I did was clean compound and wax it. The paint came right uo with good gloss. I left the paint chips as is... seeing they werent too bad. Thanks for the comments everyone. --------------------------------------------- Hubba

HUBBA,, THE PUMP LOOKS KILLER!!!!! WHAT HAPPEND TO THE CLIPPER THEME?? ANYWAY,, THAT PUMP CAME FROM A LITTLE TOWN CALLED MENAN,, HERE IN IDAHO.. MY MOM GREW UP IN THAT TOWN.. ANYWAY,, AN OLD LADY BOUGHT IT AT YARD SALE ABOUT 15 YEARS AGO FROM THE GUY WHO USED TO HAVE THE SINCLAIR STATION IN TOWN.. SHE SAID SHE GAVE HIM $25.00 FOR IT.. I FOUND IT AT HER HOUSE AS A FORGOTTEN DECORATION.. THE OLD GAL KEPT PUTTING ME OFF FOR ABOUT THREE YEARS,, FINALLY,, I CAUGHT HER ON A GOOD DAY AND MADE AN OFFER SHE COULDN'T REFUSE.. I'LL POST A PICTURE OF "BEFORE" HUBBA'S RESTO.. GREAT JOB BUD!!!! [This message has been edited by T-BONE (edited 09-09-2003).]
