I got this Phillips 66 25# grease can to complete the set of 1,5,10 & 25 pounders. I was really happy about that. Also got this 5 quart which is shipping to 5 qt later this week. A few quarts and a neat Sinclair Power X Bennett gas pump bank. Some of you guys made me show my cards early on the globe post, but there's still more new goodies at the Poor Man's place. My little throw away ad has been quite productive. Here's what I picked up on Friday (working off the turkey) and Saturday. Spent all day today cleaning, polishing and re-arranging the museum. This is the back of my truck on Saturday after picking up a free Bennett 2056 and some cans in Nipomo, CA and then cleaning out a guys backyard and storage sheds in Orcutt, CA Here's what it looked like after it was unloaded (without the pump). On my lumber rack was this "little" canopy sign that's now on my barn (barely fit). Didn't get enough on Friday so I went back for more on Saturday. Picked up the Flying A plates in Paso Robles, CA and then went back to Orcutt, CA to buy a Butler 30 pump with original cylinder and globe, bottle rack and some signs. First Aid kit and Hess truck were garage sale finds. The pump was restored but the guy had never assembled it so the picture shows some of the parts. Overall a good month for the Poor Man's Museum. Had to raise my price limit, but I got a lot of value for my money and met some nice people too. I picked up a green porcelain National A-1 from a guy here in So. Cal. It's missing the glass (repro's made by Slama) one of the stainless spears (repro by T-Way), I need some new face plates, and the stainless mounting pieces to hold the glass in. Does anyone have the stainless pieces and mounting hardware? I also got these three pictures off ebay. The artist takes the photos with an old polaroid camera, and then before the emulsion sets, she manipulates it with a tool to get the different look. I thought they were kind of cool.Make good Xmas gifts. I also got this minature "tip up can", it's very cool, so small. I think I'll make some decals for the sides? Hope you all did as well. ------------------ Don "oltoydoc" Sherwood Vintage Gas [This message has been edited by oltoydoc@pacbell.net (edited 11-29-2004).] [This message has been edited by oltoydoc@pacbell.net (edited 11-29-2004).]

Dragged home another pump tonight. Figured 30 bucks for a "modern" pump wasn't bad. My son already has dibs on it for his bedroom. I believe that it's a Smith L3-DP. Working on a big Mobil sign that I posted on General Discussion so look at it and tell me what I should pay. Thanks ------------------ C Cragg www.poormansmuseum.com

I offer this farmer $15 bucks for this GG sign, he says $25 for the pump and the sign. I say I don't really want the pump, it's rusted off it's base, etc. He says "Ok, $15 for the sign, but you have to take the pump too." A deal was struck. Here is the sign cleaned up and the banks I got from 5 Quart. (Thanks Don)

Got this Zephyr Pam clock off of eBay from an auction that didn't meet reserve. The seller "gasoildude" Brad Ralston made me a deal and even met me in person halfway between our homes to make the swap (100 miles for each of us). I appreciated that since I have had two clocks get smashed on their way to me over the past few years. Brad visits Oldgas.com sometimes. I never know if the stuff I buy during the week should go on next weeks post or this one, but since I buy most of my stuff on the weekend I'll show you what I got yesterday on this post. Another "little" Richfield sign for the back of my barn. Now I just need the eagles to go with it. Drove to the little town of Lockwood, California in Southern Monterey County to pick up the sign along with these goodies too. Wish that oil rack still had the Mobil shield on it. Got a few older California license plates and the golden poppy sign below also. The little Delco sign came from Creston, California (even smaller than Lockwood). Hoping to get more from this guys collection. He has some really nice cans.

Poppy sign, what poppy sign? I don't see any poppy signs (or road signs or highway signs or anything with "Property of the State of.." on it.
That barn is horizontal old growth California redwood 1x12 with 1x3 Oregon Spruce batts, the fence is Douglas Fir "2 Corral Board on 4x4 pressure treated posts. (That's for Elden and Dodogas)
