I WAS REALLY LIKING TONY'S AVATAR OVER ON CHEESE'S WEBSITE. SO I ASKED HIM FOR A MUCH LARGER IMAGE FILE OF IT (THANKS TONY) AND CLEANED IT UP.

HERE'S THE ORIGINAL:

THEN I TRANSFORMED IT INTO TRACEABLE LINES FOR MY OVERHEAD AND MADE MY CANVAS TO PAINT ON A SELF-PRECUT PIECE OF 1/2" MDB TO 22.5" FOR THE END RESULT.

1. IS PRIMED WITH ZINSER 1,2,3 WATER BASE AND PAINTED TWICE WITH GLOSSY WHITE ALSO ACRYLIC.

2. INSTEAD OF PAINTING THE ENTIRE SIGN BLACK AND THEN THE LETTER WHITE, I DID IT REVERSE STYLE AND PAINTED THE BLACK UP TO THE LETTERS WHICH ARE ALREADY GLOSSY WHITE FROM STEP 1.

3. SHOWS THE GLOSSY BLACK COMPLETED AND DRY.

4. SHOWS THE GLOSSY RED DONE 2X SINCE THE FIRST COAT SEEMED A LITTLE THIN.

5. SHOWS A NEW EXPERIMENT I TRIED USING A PRE-MEASURED TO FIT LASER COLOR COPY AND CUT OUT FOR APPLICATION IN THE TOP HALF OF THE SIGN. I APPLIED GLOSSY POLY-CRYLIC CLEAR COAT TO THE BACK OF THE COPY AND ROLLED OUT THE AIR BUBBLES IN A PRE-ALIGNED SET POSITION. I LET IT DRY.

6. AFTER ONE FULL DAY I ROLLED ON A FULL GLOSSY POLY-CRYLIC CLEAR COAT WHICH WAS A SLIGHT MISTAKE. THE ROLLER CREATED SURFACE BUBBLES WHICH DURING THE QUICK DRYING TIME LEFT THE SURFACE A BIT ROUGH. OH, WELL...I PUT A S2ND COAT ON AND IT FIXED THE PROBLEM TO SOME EXTENT!

THEN, USING AN OLD SHORTENED BIRD CAGE STAND FROM WHEN I WAS A KID, I POPPED THE SIGN INTO THE RING AND MADE THIS:

THIS WAS THE PLAN FOR THE END RESULT AND THE INSIDE DIAMETER OF THE RING SET THE DIAMETER SIZE OF 22.5"!

HOPE YOU LIKE!

CHRIS, I MAYBE HAVE ABOUT 2.5-3 HOURS INTO IT WHICH IS NOT BAD CONSIDERING THE NULL CHANCES OF FINDING A REAL ONE!

MICK, I'LL ALWAYS MAKE TIME FOR THE GIRLS! THIS WOULD BE BACK BURNER IF I NEEDED TO SHOOT THE LADIES!
