What is the best way to clean grease and grime off a painted lubster? I don;t want to harm the paint, but need something to cut that grease away.

Try your local chemical co.
Tell them what you want to accomplish, and see if they can help you.
If you talk right you may get a free sample gallon.

I would have to agree with using simple green, it works good on cutting grease with out hurting the paint. Or try some wax and grease remover from a paint supply store, that will not hurt the paint either. The wax and grease remover is probably a little safer, but definatley more work.

If you do all the cleaning yourself, what do you do with what comes out or the tank? Don't want to pour it behind the garage, nor do I want to pour it down the drain. What do you guys do with the stuff?
