I bought this pump a while back. I've been collecting pumps for some time and have never seen another. Does anyone know what year the 505 came with a script top??

I'm not sure about the year, but there was some debate awhile ago whether this pump even existed. Nice find. Someone suggested they were only prototypes, but I'm not sure if that was confirmed.

Thanks. I was told that only very high volume mobil stations had this particular script top pump. Not sure if that is true. There is some wear on the top to lead me to believe it was in use. Overall it's in great shape to restore and it is on my list for upcoming restorations.

That makes 2 of them, Cheeseman has one also, both in MI.

That would make a great pair, regular and special

Note the "a" is closed in Mobilgas.The inserts for this late style scriptop are non existent.You're lucky yours are insuch nice shape.I have been trying to find replacements for two years.
Is the top porcelain? neat pump!

Starting to disassemble for the restoration. The top is porcelain with some small chips. Should be a fairly easy restoration. Restored pictures to follow.
