This month we're going to feature "state" globes. That's any globe that has a state pictured or named on it.
I'll start off with this one piece etched Iowa Gas globe dating from the 1920's.

This great globe was from the Ray May collection.

This rare 14" glass bodied Illinios Farm Supply globe dates from the 1940's. From the Ray May collection.

Here's a similar Illinois Farm Supply globe on capco from the 1950's.

This globe appeared for sale on this site a few years back.

We have examples from Iowa, Texas, Indiana, Illinois, and Wisconsin. Lets see some more globes with states named or pictured on them.

Here is a globe from the state of Arkansas that Lonnie had at Columbia. Can't wait to see a Green Diamond from Missouri.

JUST GOT THIS MAYSVILLE,KY......HOME OIL CO.

I'm not sure of the age of this globe but the body appears to be an old style capco which would put it in the early 1930's. Its from the Wasatch Oil Company.

Another Idaho Chief from Wasatch. This is on a beautiful blue ripple but originally came on a capco body. Circa 1935-47.



Montana Power Ethyl dates from the late 1940's.

Socony porcelain lens was used from the mid teens through the mid 1920's.


Socony milk glass lens was used during the same time frame as the porcelain lenses.

Here's the Grren Diamond Scott was hoping to see. It dates from the 1940's.


This Parade globe covers alot of territory. It dates from the 1950's.
