hi everyone. after i read the polly quart story i remembered the shell globe.i went to a local junkyard and asked the owner at the time if he ever had any globes that went on top of the gas pumps. he said yes he had, just last week one came in with a shell pictured on glass lenses with a metal body. i asked him what happened to it. you are going to cringe on this guys.......he said i broke out the lenses and scrapped the metal body!!!! i could have cried! i did get some stuff from him once in a while but nothing ever came close to the shell globe. steve

Got a couple of sad stories..... talked to a guy from Montana a couple of years ago that said he and a friend many years ago had some Husky globe lenses and they would take turns throwing them up in the air and shooting at them with a shotgun... didn't matter if they didn't hit it... the results were the same either way. There was a guy here in town that was closing down his Chevron station and Chevron had a sign company come out to take down the large Chevron emblem..... he asked if he could keep it and the sign guys said sure.... the only problem was that when they got the sign down on the ground they put a hammer through both plastic Chevron emblems... but he still has the Chevron shaped metal frame. bob
