Thought I'd send in a few pics of my "package deal" of a couple weeks ago. Jim Potts will post them for me. I really wanted the A-38 National as poor as it is, but the owner would not sell me just one so... I got the Wayne 80 IT SN# 99957. Could somebody tell me the yr. of manufacture? The A-38 is dated March of "47. The other pump is a Gilbarco model 96F120L. As you can see the A-38 was once a Conoco pump. I'd like to put it back to Conoco. Does anyone have Conoco curved ad glass for it or know where I can get a repop? This pump also has a globe mount so should be pretty with all those lights burning. Right now it would maybe be in the running for "the ugliest pump" award, but I have high hopes for it. I've got it ready for the rubber hammer and the sandpaper. I might see what it would cost to have it sand blasted. Anybody that has restored any of these 3 wanting to send me some tips or advice would really be appreciated. I am thinking it would be nice to put a script top on the wayne 80.
Thanks to everyone who took time to look at my pics and I hope you all score something this week.

Wayne 80's were manufactured in 1951.

Ohio Oil, don't forget to post pics of your A-38 along the way to "better than new".
I agree, they are one of my favorites too.
Chris, I think I saw yours in the pump of the month for June and think yours is pretty straight. My frame is even bent. Looks like a 5,000 lb. Packard backed over it. Like to see yours as it gets back to "normal or better" too. Thanks for your encouraging words.

Rod,
Great score, I love the pictures! I can't wait to see a finished product. Try to find one side skin and one door for the A-38 if you can. It will save alot of time. You can try posting a free want ad at this site. Also if you suscribe to Check The Oil magazine you can put in a free want ad in the back. Best of luck with the project.

You're right, Rob. The one corner really took a hit. It was hit so hard that the cast piece which bolts to the frame and holds the nozzle hanger was also broken. I think I can weld it back though. If anyone reading this has another side skin and door, let men know. Frank, these pumps were found along the side of a guy's house about a half hour from where I live. He said he had lost interest in them. I could see how that might happen. I thought about it for a couple days and went back to look at them a second time. After seeing all those pics here on this site in recent months I decided to buy the A-38. He said he wouldn't sell just the one but would let me pay half now and the rest in a couple of months (real nice guy). Only you guys would understand making paynents on rusty junk. My wife is pretty understanding though.
