Got home late last night from a 54 hour round trip to the midwest to pick up this pump. Its a beauty, 100% original and complete, the electrical works, the pump cranks smooth, and the bells dings like the day it left the factory. ------------------ Good Luck on the HuntLance / The Pogo Man Pogo's Pumps pogogas@telus.net

I've been very fortunate, and could not have done it without the help of this community. In one way or another, Oldgas.com has been the starting point for every pump in my collection. So, Thank You to everyone here, you are the ones that have made it possible for me to assemble my pride and joy collection!

I could not pass this up. It came with the 3 pumps for $10 each. That crazy diesel pump sure holds a lot of diesel when you gut it!!! Two of the computers had been recently overhauled before they were retired. All are missing the front and rear panels. Mike

Lance, the new pump you got, would you consider leaving that one the way it is, or are you going to restore it? I would think that it wold retain more value with it being left the way it is, all original red...... your thoughts? It seems like there are quite a few pumps that I see people collect that still have pretty good old original paint, and people always strip 'em down and erase all the "originalness". I know some pumps are just rust buckets to the max, but some like the one the guy in the picture has his arm on, looks to be pretty decent paint for as old as that pump is. Stick an old origial globe on that baby and it's restored as far as I'm concerned. Your thoughts...... Dave

Good question Dave! I like original paint, and have strived to assemble a collection of barn fresh, unmolested, complete pumps. Most of my pumps have runable original paint, and the other's will be re-finished and antiqued to match. Shiny paint and chrome have there place, but I think it takes away from the character and history of the rarer pump's, which is what I'm trying to preserve.

For what it's worth, I wouldn't restore it either... I like it just like it looks in that picture.

I was at an old tractor show and found some things, a 5 qt Penn Amoco, a 1 gal Sinclair and this old glass exit sign I thought would look cool on the ceiling in the basement with all the other old stuff down there. I asked the guy what he wanted, he said $10. I didn't even argue I just said gimme that! It's got a light socket which I haven't tried yet. It's dated 10-25-63. I think it'll look cool lit up.
