I too saw the globe this morning and was wondering also. It looks as if it might be a countertop display or something? Just a guess.

That is a lamp shade - the chain came down threw the top hole and it had a bracket with a light bulb that attached in the bottom holding it up right. I see them from time to time in the old stations here in Kansas.

Just because it was "found" in a bulk plant, does not mean it WAS a SHELL authorized item.
