Maybe it's time we sent all our FOR SALE items to auction houses like( Dan Matthews Auction ) house and let them sell for us and all we have to do is collect our money from them, they do all the work ??? Something to think about ?
Wes.

Hi Dick- where did you see this-?? i must have missed it-- There are also still many people who come right out and say -No Paypal even though they display the pay pal logo- I hope everyone who has complained about the pay pal fees took advantage of the chance to sign up for the reduced rate of 1.9% rather than pay the 2.9%- thanks Don

Hey Don,,,, If I see it right, you have to have a transaction of $125,000 to get the 1.9% rate.??

Help me out guys. I haven't had many transactions on ebay in the last year, but a long-time member with 100% feedback. Are you saying that one can no longer buy or sell using anything but paypal?
Thanks

Thats somewhat true its a bunch of bunk if you ask me. What you have to do is list a item and accept paypal but you can put in your description in your invoice that you will also accept money orders or cash on delivery. I have listed items and put in item description that its cash on delivery and ebay sent me a notice that i will no longer be able to do so after the 15th of Jan. It will kill there business if you ask me.

After Jan. 15th, sellers will no longer be able to state they will accept checks/M.O., either in description or payment methods.

It's just a matter of time, before buyers will be Required to sign up for PP just to bid.

So what is next, Walmart stating you can only use Walmart $$, No other form of payment accepted !

This will do two (maybe three) things for eBay. First they will make more money from the paypal.com fees. Second they will (or should) reduce the amount of no pays.
Most likely the next thing they will likely do is require auto debits as soon as the auction ends by verifying fees and putting hold on anything you bid on making sure the money is in the account. So in other words if you want to bid on something that is a grand or more then that same amount of money will most likely be required to be in your paypal account before you bid (so third) they will make even more money using your money at low interest.

One more caution - my tax person says I am the only one of their clients that files and reports in detail my online auction income.

If you sell on ebay and you do not report this income - with this new system the IRS will be able to zone right in on you by just going to paypal for the records or income and expenses to get the exact amount.

Payments by cash / money order were not able to be traced in the past if you cashed them out at a bank - so you could always say you never received payment for those items.

Maybe some of you will recall that the state and federal government was “inquiring” about tax income loss through ebay sales in the last few years. - hmmm

Maybe if everyone would put at the end of their description;;;;;; If you have any questions about this auction call --- --- ----- your phone # , this way you could discuss payment options without E-bay knowing it. probably would'nt be long before E-bay realized what was going on and shoots this down also;;;;;;;;;;Ron

Since Meg Whitman left the helm ( she has been there since the inception) at Ebay things have gone south for sure, especially their stock. I bought 130 shares a few years ago when it was trading at 53.00 and now its at around $17.00 ...guess I should sell HUH ? It doesn't look good for them right now..Maybe it will never come back ?
