Ive only bid on a few items, but i seem to remember a "refresh" button on the item I am bidding on (so I make sure I am up to date on the bids) but I dont see it now. Did they get rid of it? Am I not seeing it? Maybe Im imagining things? Have I had too much beer? Should I just use the refresh button on my explorer? Thanks John

John, The refresh button appears on the item your bidding on in the upper right hand corner. It appears with 15 minutes remaining in the auction. Hope this helps.

INTERNET EXPLORER? THAT'S WHAT I WOULD DO. ALTHOUGH SOMETIMES IT JUST SUDDENLY QUITS. THEN IF YOU HAVE ENOUGH TIME TO GET BACK THERE...GREAT! SOMETIMES EXPLORER QUITS ON ME WHEN I HIT THE SUBMIT BID BUTTON! D'OH....THAT REALLY PEEVES ME. THANKFULLY I USE SAFARI NOW! AND USE THE REFRESH BUTTON THERE!

Thanks Mick...Glad Im not losing my mind. The auction Im looking at has hours to go. Doc, how do you like Safari? I hate the new explorer 7 ( and versions 1-6) I tried Firefox but it caused me more problems than explorer. John

EXPLORER ONCE SUPPORTED MY MAC...IN 2003 I THINK THAT ENDED BUT I STILL USED IT WITH PRETTY GOOD SUCCESS. NOW THAT I HAVE A NEW MAC IT ONLY OFFERS SAFARI AND SO FAR SO GOOD. IT REFRESHES AN EBAY PAGE IN A FLASH!

John: You will have better luck using a 'Snipe' program than you will refreshing the screen and trying to keep ahead of the bids. I use 'Auction Sniper' www.auctionsniper.com I put in my MAXIMUM bid days ahead of the end of the auction - and fugetaboutit. The program automatically bids within seconds of the end of the auction for me. Way too close to the end of the auction for anybody to: refresh, up their bid, and resubmit. They charge a modest fee for the service - but I don't have to be sitting at my computer at 1:00 in the morning either! Later . . . Jim

Thanks Jim. I had no idea there was such a program. While we are on the subject do any experienced ebayers care to divulge any bidding secrets/strategies...if there is such a thing.? John
