Look at this sellers Mobiloil D motorcycle sign it has to be a Fake isn't there supposed to be a Gargoyle logo on it. It is Item # 230215593623. He also has a Orange round oval Mobiloil sign, I have never seen a Orange sign like this before.

I saw this sign and the orange Gargoyle yesterday, too.
This is a fake sign, as it is missing the reg trade mark, missing the Gargoyle and the word ALL is "standing up".
See my post in Oldgas' "known reproduction".
I have seen at least two versions of the repro sign!
rgds,
Claes

I sent this message to the seller, yesterday. No response or change to the auction.
"HEllo, I am sorry, but I have to inform you that your sign is a reproduction. It is missing trade mark, Gargoyle symbol and also has the wrong measurements and fonts, compared to an original.
Btw, Your orange Gargoyle is also a well known reproduction.
I will not bid, and I send this info only as information, so that you can change your description and inform the bidders!
regards,
Claes Wallin"

rgds,
Claes

Received this answer from the seller:

"Your concern is noted, however, the authenticity is geniune by the dealer we bought it from and the orange gargoyle was authenticated by another well known dealer from Indiana."

PROBLEM IS HE'S TALKING DEALERS AND THEY SOMETIMES DON'T KNOW SQUAT ABOUT AN ITEM OR THE HISTORY LIKE A COLLECTOR WOULD KNOW. DEALERS SOMETIMES DON'T HAVE AN ITEM IN THEIR HANDS LONG ENOUGH TO HAVE ANY TRUE RESEARCH BACKING THEIR ITEMS...IT'S ALL JUST HEARSAY FROM OTHER "DEALERS!"

What do you want to bet he bought the signs from the same Indiana dealer that has sold all of the other repros? He prowls Florida in the winter. That's where he took the guy that was selling the signs at Iowa Gas last year. The guy has never gotten one dime back from him either!!
