I seem to remember that Big Cheese bought a large collection some time ago and I have been looking for it to show up here or on ebay and all I have seen are a few minor pieces. Anyone know if he sold it all at a private auction, or does he have his own website or something? Havent seen him post here lately either, is he still a member?

Seeing his globes on ebay, Does it bother anyone else that he never states in his listings "reproduction" when the globe is in fact reproduction or new?

I wish he would for those of us who arent experts. I see some have asked him that very question. Would probably save him a lot of time responding, (and potential dissatisfied buyers) if he stated if it was an original or reproduction.

If it is not clearly stated as a repro in the ad, and it is in fact a repro, ANYBODY in this hobby should know enough to be outright honest about the item to prevent any inkling of wrongdoing, and to prevent any newcomber from making an uneducated mistake. Isn't that what we are about on this site.

Am I missing something? I am on Cheese's ebay site right now and I see "original" on the description of globes and signs. There are a couple I wonder about because of price, but for the most part easy to tell reproduction from original. I see where Cheese has a 99.9% feedback rating with only 3 negs. So doesn't look like he is trying to cheat anyone.

The above post is correct. Most people want to find something wrong, even if nothing is wrong.

Lately there have been comments made about the honesty of Cheese, before that Rich and last year about others. I still haven't seen where anyone has given solid examples where these people have done anything to deserve this treatment on this forum. If someone can point out by first hand experience any transaction where they were cheated, please come forward. If not, then kill the BS. No one should have their reputation dragged through the mud without some proof of wrong doing. These people make at least part of their living by selling items and if they lose even one customer because of comments that aren't true, that is way too many. I see where JJ pulled his comments, I am sorry to see that. I believe he is and was right, this is their reputations(the sellers) that are on the line. So don't screw them up without some proof.

After recieving a couple nasty emails I will try to clarify my thoughts.

Read my reply again, It is ALL sellers/collectors in general that need to step up to the plate and show that we are better than the scammers out there that do it intentionally, There is no valid reason to leave out that an item is a repro if you know that it is. and thats that.
(I do not know cheese and this is not aimed at him,it is the topic of repros I am talking about)
