Come on guys... I'm only 31! When I was around gas pumps had no paint, just chrome. I only remember one place that had full service, my dad would not let my mom go there because it cost more than the other stations. lol. The guys that worked there were certainly not the enthusiastic young bucks that I have heard described... more like whacked-out hippies. They did not check the oil, just leered at the ladies! lol! Oh well, such is life... a day late and a dollar short. BTW- I think the first matinee I saw was Friday the 13 with my older brother. All this history is good for me though, love to hear about it. They should teach this stuff to kids in school. They should have an American history class that covers the recent history. It is funny how many of my buddies have no clue what a visible pump is. They have no idea what they were used for, most of them don't know what my wayne 100 is! Sad, a whole era will be lost. Most people my age think of Grease as a documentary on the 50's! Enough of my rant... What chain of stations is it!?
I remember the good old days when gold was worth more than rust!

So what was the most popular West coast radio show sponsored by Signal? Everyone ought to know this one.

There was a lot of them that the oil companys sponsered, Seaside sponsered a spelling competion , Signal did another one in the 1935- call The Carnival , heres a picture, Richfield did a show about a young pilot Jimmy Allen it ran for years , you can still git club memorabilia on ebay, but I'll post a picture of some stuff I have of a desk set from Richfield that had to do with that program and a race car program that they had on radio , [This message has been edited by Dwaine Buck (edited 04-25-2003).] [This message has been edited by Dwaine Buck (edited 04-25-2003).]
