...I was there! We thought someone online had bought it - imagine my surprise when I got home and saw that someone there bought the *&%$ thing!!...when you thumped the side of it, it made a dull thud...made totally out of wood, with a pump door attached and a globe mounted...and it had the ID tag attached to the side...nothing on the back side...crazy...

...of course, there were a couple of crazy things at that auction...a Sinclair Aircraft sign (yes, the fantasy pump plate) went for $1200, and a Sears Automotive curb sign (stamped steel, 1940's if I had to guess) went for $4,250 + buyers premium!!!...look them up on ebay!!

...there were some good deals on pump plates later on, and I finally got a couple of Gulf plates I've been lookin' for...will probably post on BOTW after Columbus...


Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...

Hi I was there on sat- Sinclair aircraft was a well used 20.00 sign-- I couldnt make it on Sunday so left 5000.00 plus in absentee bids and I think I got 0- looked like they had Ebay bidding- phone bidding- internet bidding and floor bidding-gone are the days where you could see who you were up against in bidding-

I too was watching the auction and couldn't believe the repo stuff did better than some of the originals...haha
