I HAVE AN OLD ESSO PUMP THAT I AM ATTEMPTING TO RESTORE. ALL PARTS ARE IN EXCELLANT WORKING ORDER, BUT IT NEEDS A FRESH COAT OF PAINT. DOES ANYONE KNOW THE PROPER PAINT SCHEEM OR HAVE AN OLD PHOTO OF A MODEL 86AR79, NO.600149.I WILL BE MUCH OBLIDGED!

Scott,

It sounds like you have a Gilbarco model 86. The paint schemes listed in "The Gas Pump Restorers Guide" are extremely accurate for this pump. I know because I purchased an Gilbarco a few years ago that was orginally an Esso pump. The red and white colors (regular)on the pump that I bought were exactly as they are described in the book. There is a black and white picture in the book of a Model 87 which is very similar to an 86 except that it was a clock face. You can get a feel for where the color break was this pump by looking at that picture.
