Hello all.

I just wanted to let everyone at Old Gas know about a new book that is available, Fill 'er Up: The Glory Days of Wisconsin Gas Stations.

Fill 'er Up is the first title in the new Places along the Way series and links Wisconsin's past with its present and shows why historic gas stations should be preserved, and what place they have in the twenty-first century and beyond.

In addition to a thorough look at how stations developed and have changed over time, almost 60 existing stations are profiled and beautifully illustrated. There are over 250 color and b/w illustrations of stations, petroliana, and the individuals who made a living pumping gas.

You can order a copy at the Wisconsin Historical Society Press website at this link, http://www.wisconsinhistory.org/whspress/books/book.asp?book_id=321

Jim Draeger and I also have a new blog that might be of interest. http://fuelishthoughts.blogspot.com/

Come take a look. We'll be excited to hear what you think.

Best,

Mark Speltz

Hey Jim.

My understanding is that the bookstores will begin receiving them real soon, as will Amazon. So they'll defintely be availble before November.

As for the WHS Press, that could be the fastest route for you to order.

Enjoy,

Mark

Mark, got my copy today. Glanced at every page, looks great. Love the pics of the old stations and a few of my favorites are in there - great job. Can't wait to sit down and read cover to cover.

Hey there.

As of right now, Eau Claire is the closest we'll be to Minnesota. Maybe something will be set up next year in NW Wisconsin.

Hope you enjoy the book when it arrives.

Best,

Mark
