I recently aquired a little 2 oz. bottle. It looks more or less like a down sized soda bottle. Embossed on it is: "Olixir top oil" inside an oval and it states that it is from the J. B. Clark Oil Co. Does anyone know of this company or the type of oil that was once contained inside? I thought initailly it was related to the brand name of Clark from Clark oil refining company. But the "J. B." part seems to be the problem with that theory. I don't have pictures of it as yet, but if needed, that can be arranged.........Thanks, Dave.

Jon Roma has a scan of an Olixir map at http://zippy.cso.uiuc.edu/~roma/roadmaps/ . (go to the letter "O") Other than that, I have no info on Olixir. When I see those little bottles I think of the oil that is floated over batteries used for farm radios from the 1920s-1930s. But that's a SWAG answer.

I have this sign that fits on a wire rack [similar in shape to the letter A].
It is double sided tin.

Thanks guys for what you've come up with. The sign you have there Dick is very interesting. The name Olixir is done in the same style as what is on the bottle. The map perplexes me. On one hand the Olixir name and oval all seem right, then I read the name of the company......the Olixir Oil Company. Unless of course there is there possibily I guess that the bottle predates the map and J. B. Clark was the company that started it all and might have renamed to the Olixir Oil Co. at some point. Well, thanks again. I feel like I've got more questions now than answers, but at least I have some direction........Dave

Dick, thanks again for the info. Can you get me a large image that will let me see the fine print at the bottom. I'd like to copy the image to keep as a record. If not, I'll just use what is already here.........Dave

You may consider contacting the seller of unsold ebay item 290202103752. There was a 4oz version of your bottle in the auction.
